Purchasing’s has issued its annual Benchmark about E-Sourcing adoption.
The percentage of spend going through e-sourcing tools almost doubled in the past year (2005) from 16% in 2005 to 31% in 2006. And buyers are shooting for up to 50% next year. Read more here.
It’s impressive but there is nothing to be surprised by: the bottom line results are there (time and money saving) and the technology costs has been divided by 100 compared to what is was offered in 2000. However it is not enough to stop the consolidation of the market and the prices to drop-down still.
