Jack Ma: How an English teacher unlocked China with Alibaba

Jack Ma (Alibaba CEO) success story, reviewed in this article from Sonia Kolesnikov-Jessop found there, on International Herald Tribune website, nicely illustrate my post of yesterday about the impact of globalisation on Supply Chain Management:

« Alibaba and Taobao have been much more successful in China than their competitors because they were able to cater their services specifically for the China market, » said Rein at China Market Research. « EBay, on the other hand, tried to bring what worked in the United States. But many other global- brand companies, like eBay or Google, run into this problem when they enter China: They simply do not adjust to local realities enough. »

Collaboration, Leadership, Sustainability. Everything is there.
