BPO agreement between Quadrem and SAP

I’ve just been informed by PAA (Peter Arnold Associates), a marketing service provider selected by Quadrem, that a BPO agreement for SRM, between SAP and Quadrem, will be officially press-released early next week. Below is the sales-pitch I received. Reading the article, you might miss, as I do, some information and a case study to get a better grip on the added-value that this agreement brings to the market. I’ll try to get that.

– SAP and Quadrem will announce a global BPO agreement for SRM

– Quadrem is system agnostic

– Quadrem’s solution is a fit for multinational companies

Through this global business process outsourcing (BPO) service, SAP and Quadrem will help customers reduce the cost and complexity of electronic sourcing, procurement, invoicing, and contract management processes.

For the first time, customers can use Quadrem BPO services to implement SAP software as an end-to-end solution, or they can integrate individual components from a portfolio of the two companies’ solutions to complement existing capabilities. Quadrem augments the on-demand SRM offering with professional services, preconfigured templates, connectivity to an international supplier network of 50,000 companies, and content services for vendor master data and electronic catalogs. Customers will pay as they go, based on usage.

This service is particularly timely today when some companies are re-thinking the strategic use of their supply chains in an attempt to manage the surge in energy costs and to address the challenges and risks of internationalization. Quadrem has built a strong reputation for innovation – connecting buyers to small, remote suppliers in the developing world as easily as to large multinationals – and streamlining the source to pay processes.

This kind of innovation has enabled Quadrem to grow consistently from 15 to 30 percent every year since its founding in 2000. More than USD$20 billion in annualized purchase order volume flows through Quadrem’s network today.

With headquarters in Holland, operations based in Dallas, Texas and offices worldwide, Quadrem enables many of the world’s largest companies to buy, with Web-based efficiency, the materials and services that keep their global operations running smoothly. These companies include BHP Billiton, Givaudan, Nestle, Rio Tinto, Saint-Gobain, and about three dozen more.
